FAQs: Planning Your Alanya Villa Holiday

Unlike many Mediterranean spots that turn into ghost towns in November, Alanya stays very much alive. Because it’s a working city with a large local population, the restaurants in the harbour and the shops on Ataturk Boulevard stay open. You might not be swimming in the sea in January, but the "vibrant year-round" energy is real-it's perfect for those who want culture without the summer crowds.

If Gazipasa has a direct flight that works, just book it. The airport is small, stress-free, and you're pulling into your villa driveway in under half an hour. Antalya gives you more flight choices, sure - but that 120km road trip can easily chew up two hours with traffic, and with tired kids in the back seat, that difference feels massive. Worth checking both options before committing.

Not everywhere. The malls - like Alanyum - have fixed prices, full stop. But step into the bazaars or smaller boutique shops like Dune, and a bit of back-and-forth is totally normal and honestly quite fun once you get into it. It's less confrontational than most people expect - more of a friendly ritual than a hard negotiation. Drop a few words in Turkish and you'll often get a warmer reception and a noticeably better price.

It depends on where you park your towel. Places like Havana and White Beach Club on Cleopatra Beach are definitely high-energy with DJs and a younger crowd. However, if you head toward the East Beach or the Marina, it’s much more laid back. The beauty of Alanya is that you can have a "party" in the afternoon and then retreat to the total silence of your villa hill-top in minutes.

Cold isn't the word-it's bracing! The river comes straight from the mountains, so even when it’s 40°C in the city center, that water stays ice-cold. It’s the ultimate local secret for beating the August heat. Just remember to kick your shoes off before you jump onto the floating rafts for lunch; the current is stronger than it looks!

Not at all. In fact, Alanya is a foodie's dream. From the fresh trout at the river farms to the high-end Mexican at Maren Hill, you’ll likely find the food quality much higher than typical resort buffets. Plus, most of the top-tier restaurants offer a free pick-up service for our villa guests, so you don't even have to worry about driving or finding a taxi.

Go to the right place and it's the real thing - not a tourist performance. The traditional hammam in Oba is a proper, thorough scrub that genuinely leaves your skin feeling completely different. One tip: go on the very first day if possible. It gets skin properly prepped for the sun and the tan holds so much better for it. Fair warning though - the massage is firm. This isn't a gentle spa situation, so don't go in expecting feather-light pressure.
